Alma Mater Posnaniensis. The
first academy in Poznań was found in 1519 (Poznań Academy, Lubrański
Academy).
Poznań University was found after the First World War in May 7, 1919.
In 1955 the name of the university was changed into Adam Mickiewicz
University. At this moment the University consists of 13 faculties. The Rector of
the University is Prof. Stanisław Lorenc.
